How Joltova handles your data — last updated April 20, 2026.

Information we collect

Information collected automatically

When you visit Joltova, standard server logs record your IP address, user agent (browser + OS), referring URL, and which pages you requested. We may use a privacy-respecting analytics service to understand aggregate traffic — which charger roundups get read, which comparison pages get shared. No personally identifiable data is stored or sold.

Information you provide

If you email us or subscribe to our newsletter, we store the email you provided so we can reply or send issues. We do not sell or rent these addresses. You can unsubscribe from every issue with one click.

Cookies

We use three categories of cookies:

  • Strictly necessary: required for the site to function (e.g. session handling).
  • Analytics: anonymous traffic counting, used only to understand which EV topics readers care about.
  • Affiliate tracking: when you click through to Amazon, Amazon sets its own cookie so it can credit the sale back to us. We do not set third-party advertising cookies ourselves.

You can block cookies in your browser — the site will still work, but certain features (like newsletter signup confirmation) may behave oddly.

How we use your information

We use collected data only to:

  • — Operate and improve the site.
  • — Reply to emails you send us.
  • — Send newsletter issues to subscribers.
  • — Understand which guides need updating as EV hardware and standards evolve.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data. Ever.

Third-party services

The following third parties may receive data when you use our site:

  • Amazon Associates — our affiliate program; receives referral data when you click an Amazon EV charger, cable, or accessory link.
  • Vercel — hosts the site and processes requests.
  • Analytics provider — anonymous aggregate traffic data.

Each has its own privacy policy governing the data it receives.

Data storage and security

Server logs and newsletter data are stored on infrastructure in the United States and the European Union. We take reasonable technical measures (HTTPS, access controls) to protect the data. No online service can guarantee 100% security, but we aim to meet or exceed industry norms.

Your rights

European Union (GDPR)

If you're in the EU, you have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Email privacy@joltova.com to exercise any of these rights.

California (CCPA)

California residents have the right to know what personal data we collect, to request deletion of that data, and to opt out of any sale. We do not sell personal data, so the opt-out is default — but you can still request access or deletion by emailing privacy@joltova.com.

Children's privacy

Joltova is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe we have received such data, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of the page for at least 30 days.
